Loving life: A Savior is born who is Christ The Lord

Loving life: A Savior is born, who is Christ the Lord.

Winston Churchill, the Beloved leader of Britain during the darkest days of WWII, was no stranger to adversity, nevertheless, he knew what was required to survive the German onslaught and the daily bombing of London. He would write to his countrymen,

“ We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”

Some 60 years have passed and the enemies have changed but the fight remains. Our fight against the horrific realities of abortion is no less an assault on the very sanctity of life and yet our struggle reaches into the most practical and personal priorities of our clients’ lives. We defend life and lives everyday; we fight daily on the streets of our communities for a hearing on behalf of our clients and for the hope necessary to believe in Jesus Christ. We represent family in the fields of our endeavor and diligently offer our clients the tools to turn their present failures into a future for their children.

You graciously have been part of that fight for many years and we salute you for your faithful commitment to life. This year we have a new foe. Fear knocks abusively on the doors of our supporters with its companion “economic uncertainty” and presses hard against our continued success. We struggle as do many of our companion ministries yet we rejoice at the outpouring of God’s blessing through people just like you. God has required of us that we prove ourselves faithful to our calling, our testimony, and our integrity, (Micah 6:8) and he has blessed and sustained us during a very difficult twelve months.

Can we call upon you to partner with us as we seek to finish our fiscal year financially strong? Our board has prayerfully set a goal of $200,000.00 to end the year in a strong financial footing, and while we realize the size of this number, we nonetheless take courage in God’s greatness and the bounty and reach of his provision. You can help us in any number of ways. Here are just a few!

  1. A Lithograph copy of Adam Bock’s original “Life Image” is available in a full size wall hanging for those who can make a donation of $250.00 or more.
  2. Greeting cards of our new “Life imagery” series are available for a donation of $10.00 per dozen. What an opportunity you have to communicate with friends and family your richest greetings for a blessed Christmas with a card that reminds us of the beauty of life while illuminating of the hope and joy brought through the miraculous birth of our Savior.
  3. Our e-giving provides a regular offering of support for the ministry of Lakeshore Pregnancy Center. At our website (www.lpcenters.com), you will find the flexibility to support the ministry with a single gift or through your regular consistent monthly gift.

However you determine to help us, please do not fail to pray for Lakeshore Pregnancy Center in the battle for life and know that you are a trusted partner in the work of advancing the cause of Christ and Kingdom in the lives of our clients—not to mention their families. Finally, please do not underestimate the power of your contribution to us, whatever the amount. We desire to see this ministry grow stronger and seek new partners in a partnership that has seen our client load for 2009 grow to exceed 6000 visits. This is life-giving work! In closing, I remind you again of Winston Churchill, who noted, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

We wish you a blessed Thanksgiving and a Christmas filled with the presence of the Savior, who is “Christ the Lord.”
